The Biostatistics Track of the
Master of Statistics Program

This program is within Department of Family and Preventive Medicine in the School of Medicine. The object of this program is to provide the student with a good foundation in the basics of applied statistics, the fundamentals of numerous problems in the areas of health, an ability to apply statistical knowledge to health-related data, an ability to understand the problems and deal with the personalities of health care personnel, and an ability to use computers to good advantage. This is a two year program.

In addition to the M. Stat. Program requirements for admission, a student is required to know a programming language and to have taken one year of undergraduate biology. The biology requirement could be made up by taking both anatomy and physiology in the first year of the program.
