What is your admissions policy?
The David Eccles School of Business (DESB) accepts a limited enrollment of well-qualified students into the graduate program each year. The goal of admissions is to admit academically strong applicants who show the greatest potential for completing the program and succeeding in a career, and whose backgrounds will contribute to the academic excellence and the demographic, educational, and experiential diversity of each class.
Your academic qualifications are determined by a review of your undergraduate major and grade point average, the undergraduate institution attended, and your performance on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). We determine your managerial potential by reviewing responses to essay questions, work experience, confidential evaluations and extracurricular, community, and professional activities. Students need to apply to the Department of Operations and Information Systems as well as through the Graduate School.
Because of the high level of communication skills required of Masters students at the DESB, international applicants whose native language in not English must submit scores from the Test of Spoken English (TSE). Applicants who hold undergraduate degrees from American universities may be able to waive the TSE requirement. Foreign students who require visas must also submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
